Jim Self (BSEd 1965) recently released an album featuring his compositions for brass quintet.
Self is well-known as a studio musician in Los Angeles, having played on over 1,500 soundtracks over the past 40+ years. He was recently featured on the cover of International Musician,

The album, Flying Circus, features eight of his compositions for brass quintet. The compositions were recorded by two of the most prominent brass ensembles in Los Angeles, Crown City Brass and Modern Brass. The album was released on the Potenza label.
The album is dedicated to the memory of William Becker, professor emeritus at IUP, who taught in the Music Department for 30 years.
