Nina Minnelli, a theater major with a design/technology/management concentration,
has been selected as one of two students at the university to represent
IUP at the PASSHE Student Leadership Institute. Her attendance is
sponsored by the President’s
Commission on the Status of Women.
Minnelli is a stand-out student and recipient of the department’s Love of the Arts scholarship in her freshman year. Now completing her second year, she has served on the department’s Student Advisory Board, been a student mentor for new students, and has been a passionate advocate for inclusion and diversity initiatives.
Minnelli, and English education
major Isis Truxon, were selected to attend the Pennsylvania Women’s
Undergraduate Women’s Leadership Institute. The Leadership Institute provides a forum for the Pennsylvania
State System of Higher Education to nurture the leadership potential
of women students. It creates an experience that empowers women as
leaders, presents successful models of leadership through dialogue and
collaboration, challenges women to realize
their full potential as leaders, and connects women with other women
who are committed to social change.
The PASSHE Women's Consortium
holds an annual conference and three leadership institutes and works to
advocate for women staff, administrators, students, and faculty across
the State System.
