Four members of the Department of Counseling were honored at a recent IUP dinner for their scholarship over the past academic year.
Lorraine Guth and Brittany Pollard were recognized for their article, titled “Ten Strategies to Intentionally Use Group Work to Transform Hate, Facilitate Courageous Conversations, and Enhance Community Building” (Journal for Specialists in Group Work).
Sibyl West was honored for her book chapter, titled
“Counseling Individuals with Addictive Behaviors” (Career Counseling Foundations, Perspectives,
John McCarthy was also recognized for his article, titled “Do Creative Thinking and Creative Problem-Solving Have a Place in Counseling Curricula?” (Journal of
Creativity in Mental Health).
They were joined by the dean of the College of Education and Communications, Lara Luetkehans.
