The National Endowment for the Humanities is holding a summer stipend competition for faculty. Applicants must be nominated by their institution to apply, and we are
limited to two faculty nominees.
In order to select IUP’s nominated applicants, we are holding an internal competition. Interested faculty members can submit a proposal via the online competition in InfoReady Review by Friday, August 2, 2019, at 4:30 p.m.
Summer stipends provide $6,000 for two consecutive months of full-time research and writing. Recipients must work full-time on their projects for these two months and may hold other research grants supporting the same project during this time. Summer
stipends normally support work carried out during the summer months, but arrangements can be made for other times of the year.
More information about the NEH summer stipend competition can be found on the National Endowment for the Humanities website. Please note, however, that the internal
competition to select IUP’s two nominees only requires submitting a proposal via the online competition by August 2. IUP’s two internal nominees
will be selected within two weeks to allow for time to put together the full NEH proposal.
