Pa. Senate confirms Elliot Howsie as Allegheny County judge

“Allegheny County Chief Public Defender Elliot Howsie was unanimously confirmed Tuesday by the state Senate to a seat on the Court of Common Pleas — just four hours after his nomination was voted out of committee. ... Mr. Howsie, who spent five years as a prosecutor, for his work in mentoring first-year Duquesne University law students, as well as for his broad professional background, including working at Shuman Juvenile Detention Center in Pittsburgh while attending graduate school in criminal justice at Indiana University of Pennsylvania.”
