The University College recently held an end-of-semester event to recognize University College students that have declared majors and to express appreciation to Peer Mentors and College Mentors that have supported University College students and staff during the past academic year.
Those who attended enjoyed refreshments, pictures, mingling with fellow students, peer mentors, staff and faculty, and received a finals survival snack bag with study strategies for finals and transition tips for returning home for the summer.
Various colleges provided resource materials and swag to celebrate students that transitioned from University College after completing the major declaration process. Students were invited to sign the University College Major Declaration Poster and write a thank you to their peer mentor on the Peer Mentor appreciation banner. University College Peer Mentors were also formally recognized during the event for their role in supporting students during their first year. Thank you to all who attended and made the evening a success!
Congratulations to all of our University College students for completing your first year and a huge thank you to all University College staff, faculty, college and peer mentors for all you’ve done to support our students’ success.
To date, more than 40 students who explored with the University College this year have found their career pathway and declared a major.
