Psychology Day—celebrating research, careers, and current issues in psychology—will take place on Friday, May 3, 2019, in IUP’s Uhler Hall, home to the Department of Psychology.

Events begin at 10:00 a.m. with keynote speaker Don McAleer, a board certified psychologist and director of Northshore Psychological Associates. McAleer, a graduate of IUP’s Clinical Psychology PsyD program, will discuss the past, present, and future of medical and neuropsychology.

The event will continue with panel discussions about career opportunities; workshops on opioid treatment, bystander intervention, and suicide prevention; and research talks by students and faculty in psychology. Student research will include thesis presentations by several undergraduates in the Psychology Honors program. Events run until 3:20 p.m.
