Under the direction of Holly Boda-Sutton, IUP’s Dance
Theater Company celebrated 25 years and brought back alumni to perform in their final performance of the season, Cindi: An Evening with Dance and Percussion.
Cindi is the classic Cinderella story, but with a twist. The
twist was the interpretation of the Cinderella story set in the world of high fashion.
The IUP Dance Theater presented this modern-day telling of Cinderella set to the IUP Percussion Ensemble’s featured music of classic rock, which was directed by Michael Kingan and arranged by IUP alumnus Chris Leidhecker ’11.
IUP Dance Theater alumni from the past 25 years returned to dance as part of the performance. Those alumni included Lindsey Grove ’14, Katie Gutmann ’18, Leah Lyons ’07, M’17, Kayla Machack ’10, M’17, and Anna Ponak-Shively ’00.
The show was amazing thanks to all involved!
