Sorrell Gives Presentations at Northeast Modern Language Association Convention

On Thursday, March 21, Friday, March 22, and Saturday, March 23, Peter Sorrell of the English Department co-chaired a roundtable and gave two talks at the Northeast Modern Language Association Convention in Washington, DC.

The roundtable was titled “Empowering the Voices of the New Professorate: Pathways to Publication among Contingent Faculty” and was co-chaired by literature and criticism alumnus William Magrino, who currently directs the Business and Technical Writing Division of the Rutgers University Writing Program.

Participants from IUP included Melanie Holm, assistant professor in the English Department, and Rodney Taylor, a literature and criticism doctoral student.

The talks were titled “The Kids Aren’t Alright: Teaching the Personal and the Professional of Social Media” and “‘Every now and then, it's good to question those who question things’: Dark’s Critique of Narrative."
