On February 7, 2019, the Department of Hospitality Management’s student chapter of the Club Managers Association of America was presented a check matching funds raised by the student chapter in 2018.
Jeanne Davis, managing director for the Pittsburgh Chapter of CMAA, and Jack Nelson, general manager of Latrobe Country Club, on behalf of the Pittsburgh Club Managers Foundation, presented the check to our students here at IUP.
These funds will be used to support CMAA Student President Lauren Zola, Treasurer Melissa Colbaugh, and members Bailey Taylor and Carly Huff’s attendance at the CMAA World Conference and Club Business Expo at the Music City Center in Nashville, Tennessee,
February 24–28, 2019.
While at the conference, IUP CMAA student members will participate in education sessions and networking events such as the student education sessions, student achievement lunch, and the student mentor lunch.
Since the PCMF founding in June 2017, the Foundation members have worked closely with Stephen Shiring, chairperson, and Yasong Wang, associate professor, of the Department of Hospitality Management, to provide networking and educational opportunities
for student CMAA members at IUP.
This is the first time the PCMF awarded a check to match the funds raised by the IUP student chapter members. All matched funds will be used to support student chapter members’ future attendance of the CMAA World Conferences.
