The next events for the Lively Arts Ovations! series will feature two evenings of engaging works by the Sweet Remains. In addition to the trio’s concert slated for Friday, March 1, 2019, at 8:00 p.m. in Gorell Recital Hall, there will be a free screening of their award-winning film The Independents the night before at 6:30 p.m. in Beard Auditorium of Stouffer Hall.Sweet Remains

With over 35 million listens on Spotify, the Sweet Remains will appeal to fans of contemporary folk-rock. The Sweet Remains highlights their lyricism and melodic writing. However, their three-part harmonies are what separate them from the rest. USA Today has featured the Sweet Remains twice as their pick-of-the-week for their harmonies.

The group, consisting of Rich Price, Greg Naughton, and Brian Chartrand, started over 10 years ago at a jam session in 2007. In the years that followed, the Sweet Remains continued to rise, gaining major traction with streaming services. In 2017, the indie band created their own feature film, The Independents, a dramedy which is loosely based on their experience as a band in the music industry. Today, the Sweet Remains continues to dominate online streaming, with over 300,000 monthly listeners of their three albums: Live at the Canal Room (2012), North & Prospect (2013), and Night Songs (2015).
