On February 14, 2019, three students in the Eberly College of Business and Information Technology participated in the Association for Corporate Growth Cup, a finance case study competition in which students act as investment bankers and are given the responsibility to make a recommendation to the board of directors at a fictitious company. These students must analyze the different options and find a creative solution to the problem while working within given constraints. Their investment thesis must be supported by their accompanying analysis and presented to a panel of judges.

Benjamin Putnam is a senior finance major who serves as the portfolio manager for IUP’s Student Managed Investment Portfolio (SMIP).  Dennis “Colton” Kensinger is a senior finance major who serves as SMIP's materials sector lead analyst and as the chief economist. Seth Thomas is a sophomore finance and accounting dual baccalaureate who serves as SMIP’s financials sector lead as well as the Bloomberg Lab manager.

Alumnus Michael Williamson (Tecum Capital) and  Don Haddad (Citizens Financial) returned to IUP to be the judges for this round of the ACG cup.
