Zach Clark, director of Student Activities
and Assessment for the Student Cooperative Association, has been asked to present an
educational session at the National Association for Campus
Activities national convention in Columbus, Ohio, on February 18, 2019.
is a leader in higher education and provides educational opportunities
and resources to support student activities and campus life at American
colleges and universities.
The session, titled “#YouCanDoIt #WePromise: Integrating Scholarly Work into Everyday Practice,” highlights examples from NACA-affiliated institutions in which student affairs and campus activities professionals easily and meaningfully integrate scholarly work, including research, evaluation, assessment, scholarship, and application, into their daily work, and encourages attendees to do the same on their own campuses. The session is presented with Dustin Evatt-Young, associate director for Campus Activities at Appalachian State University, and Loreal Robertson, assistant director of Student Activities at Texas A&M University at Kingsville.
session also outlines current NACA Research and Scholarship Group (RSG) projects, including application of the NACA NEXT research instrument, the Campus Activities Financial Project, the NACA-NSSE Project, and the formation of the Journal of Campus Activities Practice and Scholarship (JCAPS). RSG, as the research,
scholarship, assessment, and evaluation committee of NACA, was convened
to advance the research agenda of the association and to support
scholarly endeavors in student activities and campus life. Clark has
served as a member of the NACA RSG since 2016.
is a 2007 graduate from Saint Vincent College in Latrobe, Pennsylvania,
where he earned his bachelor’s degree in history education, and a 2009
graduate from IUP, where he earned his master’s degree in student
affairs in higher education. He has 15 years of experience in student
activities management and is currently celebrating his tenth year at IUP.
