Seth WoolcockSeth Woolcock, an undergraduate research assistant with the Mid-Atlantic Research and Training Institute for Community and Behavioral Health (MARTI-CBH), recently published his first article in the winter 2018 edition of the Pennsylvania Sheriff. The journal is the official magazine of the Pennsylvania Sheriff’s Association and is received by thousands of people in and outside of Pennsylvania.

Woolcock’s article coincides with the efforts of the prevention team at MARTI-CBH and highlights the recent enactment of the Opioid Prevention and Community Health Initiative (OPACH) by the institute. Notably, he writes about the successful Heart of a Champion Awards event which was held in March 2018. The event honored Steeler Hall of Famer Franco Harris and local Sheriff Bob Fyock for their service to their communities.

Woolcock is currently a senior journalism and public relations major who has been working closely with Erick Lauber, of the same department, on a state-funded prevention project. He also serves as the editor-in-chief of IUP’s newspaper, the Penn.
