Three IUP Geography
and Regional Planning students received awards for their paper and poster presentations at the annual Pennsylvania Geographical Society meeting on November 9, 2018, at Villanova University.
Two students received awards for posters detailing their research: Erin Penzelik received the second place in the Graduate Student poster contest for her entry “The Spatial Distribution of Chlorides in the Beaver Run Reservoir,” and AbigaiI Roberts’
Pennsylvania: Impervious Surfaces and River Walls,” received the third-place award in the Undergraduate Poster category.
In addition, Carlee Benhart’s paper presentation, “GIS-Driven Multi-Municipal
Blight Flight,” was honored with the second-place award in the statewide Undergraduate Paper contest.
IUP students received more awards for their work than students from any other university in the state at the Society’s meeting. Congratulations to all of our Geography and Regional Planning Pennsylvania Geographical Society award winners!
