Students in IUP Punxsutawney’s General Psychology class purchased and wrapped gifts for children in need as part of a community service project.
The project was organized by Theresa Ruffner, assistant professor, and Gina Bryant, administrative assistant, as a way to give back to the community. Families were identified, and wish lists were received for six children.
When asked how if felt to take part in such a project, student Jake Pearce said, “This experience signifies what Christmas is all about. It feels great helping people who need it.”
Student Paige Beatty said, “It warms my heart to know it will make a child’s Christmas special.”
The entire class agreed that it’s important, especially during the holidays, to give back to your community. The gifts will be distributed to the families this week.
