SFA proudly hosted Chris Adams on Tuesday, November 27, 2018. Adams is a 1994 IUP graduate who works as a financial solutions sales effectiveness coach at First Commonwealth Bank in Indiana.
He focuses on leadership development and executing
First Commonwealth’s consumer and small business sales strategy. Adams oversees multiple branches and coaches managers and team leaders on how to succeed.
Adams has been in the banking industry for over 20 years. Prior to that, he was a finance advisor for a few years and actually managed money for some the players and executives of the Cleveland Browns. He enjoyed this work said that it helped him develop
his skills in credit analysis and middle market management; but he did not see himself staying in this field forever. As a result, Adams then worked at a few other banks, where he pushed his teams beyond their comfort zones and resulted in great success,
for not only the companies but also the employees.
During his time at IUP, he was a member of the Division II baseball team. Adams really enjoys playing baseball and still does to this day. In fact, when he was working towards his MBA he was able to pay for his tuition through his pitch coaching.
Adams left encouraged students to invest not only in ourselves, but also in the people working around us. The commitment we put into ourselves will pay us back in our future endeavors. By helping those around us to grow, helps to make for a successful
