Hody Awarded 2018 Health and Human Services Young Alumni Achievement Award

The 2018 College of Health and Human Services Young Alumni Achievement Award was presented to Department of Safety Sciences alumnus Brandon Hody ’12, M’15. 

Brandon HodyHody is currently a safety and occupational health professional for Current Technologies Corporation. He was also recently recognized by the National Safety Council as a “Rising Star of Safety” for his leadership in workplace safety programs. In 2016, he was the American Society of Safety Professionals Public Section Practice Specialty Safety Professional of the Year.

In 2017, Hody won an election to become assistant administrator at the American Society of Safety Professionals Public Sector Practice Specialty. He also serves as the alternate CTC representative to an American National Standards Institute and two International Safety Equipment Association Standard Development Committees. In August 2018, Hody co-authored a peer-reviewed article titled “Medical Marijuana—Addressing Impairment in the Workplace,” in the ASSP’s Professional Safety Journal.
