Todd Nathan Thompson, professor of English and assistant chair of the English Department, presented a talk titled “Addressing the Access Gap in the Digital Archive: Progress through Partnerships” at the Bucknell University Digital Scholarship Conference (#BUDSC18) on October 7, 2018.

Thompson’s talk advocated for institutionalized partnerships between scholars, archival libraries, and subscription database providers as a way to level the scholarly playing field between scholars at elite and at underfunded universities whose libraries cannot afford the same level of access to scholarly content.

The #BUSC18 conference, whose theme was “Digital Scholarship: Expanding Access, Activism, and Advocacy,” brought together faculty, researchers, librarians, artists, educational technologists, students, administrators, and others to discuss and promote access to and through digital scholarship.
