On October 25, 2018, the Division of Student Affairs held its fall professional development workshop. As has been customary, the division recognized the recipient
of the David A. DeCoster Excellence in Assessment Award for 2018 (its ninth year).
This award recognizes outstanding assessment projects completed by at least one member of the Student Affairs Division. Additionally, three more assessment awards were also distributed.
The winner of the DeCoster Award for the 2017–18 school year was Sara Dillon for the “Just Paws” program. Sondra Dennison, Mimi Benjamin, Daniel Burkett, Juston Fair, Dawn Smith-Sherwood, and Li Teng were also recognized for their project, “Certificate-based
Living-Learning Programs.” Tedd Cogar, Adam Jones, and Zachary Grover were also recipients of a Best Planned Assessment Award for their project, “Student Conduct Mentoring Program.” One last award was given to Valerie Baroni for her project, “Methods
of Predictive Analysis of Continuing Students within On-Campus Housing.”
