Learn more about the mining of bituminous coal in western Pennsylvania during the late 19th and early 20th centuries, and the subsequent fight for unionization among coal miners. These artifacts, photographs, and memorabilia are from coal mining and union-related collections housed in the IUP Special Collections and University Archives in Stapleton Library, room 302.

This display will be available through the end of the fall 2018 semester, and it features materials from the Rochester & Pittsburgh Coal Company Records, which is one of the largest archival collections in the IUP Special Collections.
