The IUP Libraries and Lively Arts are pleased to present a preview and Q&A of the upcoming IUP Music Theater production Sweeney Todd from 12:00 to 12:45 p.m. on Thursday, October
25, in the Orendorff Music Library, Room 101 of Cogswell Hall. All
faculty, staff, and students are invited to this free event.
The 2018–19 academic year marks the seventh year the Library Lively Arts Mary Jane Shafer Memorial partnership has presented free noontime programs featuring Ovations! series artists, and other performers, in Lec/Dem and Q&A formats. These popular presentations gives those in attendance the opportunity to meet the artist(s), ask questions, and hear a preview of the upcoming performance.
Thursday’s Sweeney Todd event will feature Associate Professor Oliver Lo, Sweeney Todd director and director of Opera/Music Theater at IUP; Assistant Professor Colleen Ferguson, conductor for the production, as well as Applied Violin/Viola instructor and director of the IUP Orchestra; cast members Charles Aurand, Davey Beyer, Elary Mede, and Shannon Quinn; and accompaniment by IUP piano faculty member Evan Engelstad.
Bring your lunch and enjoy a great opportunity to meet and support your IUP colleagues. Also available to those in attendance will be ticket vouchers for the October 26 and 27 performances of Sweeney Todd.
