Fifth Annual Crimson Hawk Invitational Choral Conference a Huge Success

A choir performs on the Fisher Auditorium stage.On Tuesday, October 9, the Department of Music hosted the Fifth Annual Crimson Hawk Invitational Choral Conference with over 340 students from twenty-four different school districts in attendance.

Attending students participated in a collaborative music ensemble experience with 52 IUP students who sing in the University Chorale. Headlining clinicians were Nicole Lamartine, director of choral activities at the University of Wyoming, and Ryan Beeken, director of choral studies at IUP. Music Education and Choral Activities faculty member Craig Denison spearheaded professional development sessions for area teachers. In addition, several students auditioned for entrance into the music program and two students were honored on stage and invited to join the music department at IUP beginning fall 2019.
