Dietetic Interns from the Department of Food and Nutrition were cooking up some healthy snacks as they promoted healthy eating and wellness at the Indiana County
Farmers’ Market on September 22, 2018.
These 12 interns are currently enrolled in the Dietetic Internship Certificate program, in which they complete nearly 1,300 supervised
practice hours over the course of the academic year. These hours are divided between several rotations: community intervention, clinical, and food service management. Upon completion of this internship, these students can sit for the national exam
to become a registered dietitian.
The Department of Food and Nutrition accepts 12 students each year for the certificate program.
This events at the Farmers’ Market is a fun event for the interns, as all 12 come together to provide nutrition education to the community.
