Studies and the Center for Teaching Excellence at Indiana University of Pennsylvania are pleased to announce “The Elephant in the Room: Conversation and Action for Diversity, Inclusion,
and Equity in the Classroom and Beyond.” This year-long series of workshops is designed to be a part of the IUP community’s ongoing commitment to conversations and positive action about diversity and inclusion.

“Facilitating Challenging Conversations in the Classroom: Preparing for the Unexpected or Unimaginable” on November 7 at 3:30 p.m. in Ackerman 116
“Improv/Performance and De-Escalation” on November 9 at 3:30 p.m. in HSS 114
“Building an Inclusive Classroom” on February 1 at 3:30 p.m., location TBA
“Advancing Diversity and Inclusion in Higher Education” on February 15 at 3:30 p.m., location TBA
"Promoting an Inclusive Culture in the Classroom" on February 16 at 8:30 a.m., location TBA
Completion of four events will earn the participant a Certificate of Training in Diversity and Inclusion.
