The IUP Upward Bound Math and Science Program is pleased to announce that scholar Katie Kane, a recent graduate of Indiana Senior High School, was recently named a PA TRIO scholarship recipient for 2018. As a recipient of this award, Katie will be provided with a $750 stipend to support her as she pursues a degree in finance at Pace University in New York.

The Pennsylvania Association of TRIO Programs (PA TRIO) represents member institutions that include universities, colleges, and community educations centers hosting TRIO programs. Scholarship winners are selected from a pool of graduating high school seniors participating in each pre-college TRIO program (Upward Bound, Upward Bound Math and Science, Veterans Upward Bound, Talent Search, and Educational Opportunity Centers) based on an essay submission addressing the question, “What have you overcome in your life to begin your college journey at your institution?”

Katie had been a participant in the IUP UBMS program for four years during her high school career. Katie is the sixth UBMS scholar to receive this honor.

Congratulations Katie!
