The Lively Arts and IUP Department of Music are pleased to present a
Q&A featuring the music director of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, Maestro Manfred
Honeck, and guest soloist, the world-renowned violinist Pinchas Zukerman, the 2018-19 Helwig Distinguished Artist.
Moderated by IUP music faculty member and applied violin and
viola professor Colleen Ferguson, it will take place from 5:00 to 5:45
p.m. on Saturday, September 29, in DiCicco Hall (Rm. 121) of Cogwell Hall, prior to the evening performance by the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra.
This is a rare opportunity to meet two musicians of such world-wide stature at the same time, hear their thoughts on music and their many years of music collaboration, and ask your own questions about the PSO’s evening program, as well as other topics of musical interest.
Maestro Honeck will attend the entire session, and Zukerman will be able to attend from 5:00 to 5:30 p.m.
The event is free and open to all faculty, staff, and students, as well as the general public. For more information, contact the Lively Arts at 724-357-2787 or at firstname.lastname@example.org. For ticket information, call the Lively Arts Box Office at 724-357-1313 between noon and 5:00 p.m. Monday–Friday.
