Join the IUP Career and Professional Development Center
at their annual Goal in the Grove event on Wednesday, September 12,
2018, from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. in the Oak Grove.
Kelsey Thompson, assistant director of the CPDC, coordinates
the event. “We wanted to let students know about the many services we offer in
our department,” Thompson said. “We decided several years ago to have the event
in the Oak Grove to gain additional exposure.”
CPDC team members will be situated in the center of the
Grove under a large tent and will each have a station to explain specific
services. “We’ll have information about career fairs, networking events, the
Washington Center, National Student Exchange, the Handshake online job posting
system, and how our career coaches can assist students and alumni,” Thompson
Grilled hot dogs and hamburgers will be offered free by
Aramark, and Pita Pit and Insomnia Cookies are donating food. Students will
have the opportunity to sign up for free prizes provided for the event by
Representatives of the IUP Ambassadors and the IUP Student
Philanthropy Council will also be on hand to talk to students about their
organizations. “The SPC always appreciates the opportunity to engage with
students, especially at a fun event such as Goal in the Grove,” Stephanie Sell,
assistant director of Annual Giving and coordinator of the SPC, said.
