Jen Perillo (PI) and Anthony Perillo (co-PI), assistant professors of Psychology, have received a two-year grant from the National Science Foundation to fund their research on decision-making in forensic evaluations. The award of $334,787 is the largest
grant received in IUP’s Psychology Department since the doctoral program’s inception in 1987.
The project, “Understanding Cognitive Factors and Legal Processes of Expert Opinions,” aims to improve forensic evaluations by pinpointing specific factors that influence decision-making by experts. The project will also provide support for two IUP PsyD
Professors Perillo and Perillo are excited to begin this large-scale investigation at IUP.
