The IUP Center for Creativity and Change recently
featured Amy Wenzel, an assistant professor of Psychology in Psychiatry at
the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, for its spring 2018
workshop. The one-day seminar, “Innovation in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
for Anxiety and Suicide Prevention,” was held on April 13 at the Kovalchick
Convention and Athletic Complex in Indiana.
The event attracted over 60 people, including IUP
students and alumni. It was the 33rd
workshop offered through the Department of Counseling since 2002, and over 1,900
have attended its trainings since that time.
Wenzel discussed cognitive behavioral therapy from
both her academic and clinical work. She
is an adjunct faculty member at the Beck Institute for Cognitive Behavior
Therapy and is the author or editor of 20 books and over 100 peer-reviewed
journal articles and book chapters.
