On March 15, Lama Alharbi, English instructor and PhD candidate in Composition and Applied Linguistics, received the dream scholar award at this year’s Conference on College Composition and Communication convention in Kansas City, Missouri.

Alharbi’s presentation, “Unpeeling Layers of Linguistic Tolerance: Exploring the Process of Language- Laboring and Negotiation of Authority and Language Agency in Writing Center Tutorial Sessions,” explores the ways in which multilingual tutors and international students negotiate the unspoken assumptions of their roles, literacy practices, and language beliefs in writing center tutorials.
