The bi-annual Survey of Community Attitudes about Sexual Violence, also known as the Be Heard survey, will be sent to all students via their IUP e-mail accounts on Wednesday, April 4, 2018. The survey is anonymous and takes about 20 minutes to complete. Participating students may then enter to win a variety of prizes, which will be awarded through a weekly drawing.
As noted in your e-mail from President Driscoll, your participation in this survey will help IUP provide better support for people who have experienced inappropriate sexual behaviors, develop policies and prevention tools to reduce the frequency of sexual violence in the campus community, and gauge the campus climate regarding overall sexual misconduct among students.
Please download the 2018 Be Heard poster to share with any student organization or classroom you feel is appropriate, and visit the IUP Be Heard website for FAQ and further information. You may also contact Jessica Miller, of the IUP Haven Project and the Counseling Center, and the 2018 survey chairperson, at J.E.Seacrist@iup.edu.
