IUP Alumnus Kanick Takes Over as Student Co-op CFO

With more than three decades of related experience, Robert Kanick, Jr. stepped into the role of chief financial officer and director of Human Resources for the Student Cooperative Association effective March 1, 2018.

“I am excited to have Bob with us in this role,” said Louis Garzarelli, Jr., the Student Co-op’s executive director and CEO. “Bob brings over 32 years of experience in both the financial and human resource field, and his knowledge and shared vision for the association will continue to help us move forward.”

In this role, Kanick will manage the association’s business office and the day-to-day business affairs of the association and the College Student Union Association and also maintain all accounting and payroll records for both corporations.

“I am both humbled and excited for the opportunity to return to my alma mater and to work with the team at the Student Cooperative Association at IUP,” Kanick said.

Kanick earned his undergraduate degree in accounting from IUP in 1984. He resides in Indiana with his wife, Andrea, and two sons, Bobby and Branden. He is a native of Indiana and a graduate of Indiana Area High School.
