Brittany Hull, English instructor and PhD candidate in Composition and TESOL, has been selected as a recipient of the 2018 Scholars for the Dream Award by the Conference on College Composition and Communication.
This awards supports Hull’s travel and scholarly presentation at this year’s CCCC convention in Kansas City, Missouri. Hull’s presentation, “#BlackWomenAtWork: Criticized, Corrected, and All Around Disrespected,” examines how Black women composition scholars
establishing themselves in the field often face criticism regarding their use of African American Language speaking and writing.
Hull will be introduced and receive this award at the convention’s Opening General Session on the morning of Thursday, March 15.
