The Third Annual Three-Minute Thesis competition and Graduate Student Outstanding Research Award competition are closing this Friday, February 23, at 4:30 p.m. Interested students should apply now to take part in these exciting opportunities.

Three-Minute Thesis

In this competition, graduate students have exactly three minutes to present their original scholarship with the aid of one static PowerPoint slide (no animation, no audio, no video).

A preliminary competition will be held Wednesday, March 7, 2018, in the Allegheny room of the HUB. The top scoring participants from the preliminary competition will advance to the final round being held after the Graduate Scholars Forum on Wednesday, April 4, 2018. A cash prize will be awarded to the winner of the final round and the peer choice winner.

Graduate students interested in participating in this event can submit a proposal via our InfoReady review system.

Graduate Student Outstanding Research Award

Students who graduated in May, August, or December 2017, or who have finished their project and will graduate in May 2018, are eligible to be nominated by any department offering graduate courses. Interested students may apply via the Graduate Student Outstanding Research Award competition in InfoReady Review. A nomination letter from a faculty member in the student’s department is required.

Awards of $100 (provided by the Office of the Provost) are presented at the annual research awards luncheon on April 2, 2018.
