Office of New Student Orientation Announces New Staff Members

The Office of New Student Orientation recently completed its Student Success Leader selection process for the upcoming orientation season. The 2018 staff is a combination of new and returning staff members.

The new staff members include:

  • Na’eem Allen-Stills, a sophomore exercise science major from Philadelphia, Pa.
  • Emine Boz, a sophomore communications media major from Camp Hill, Pa.
  • Winie Chery, a sophomore chemistry/pre-pharmacy major from Indiana, Pa.
  • Kassandra Collins, a junior natural sciences major from Irwin, Pa.
  • Destyni Davis, a freshman psychology major from Altoona, Pa.
  • Madison Frederick, a sophomore criminology/pre-law major from Allentown, Pa.
  • Taylor Goodjoin, a sophomore natural sciences major from Mechanicsburg, Pa.
  • Rebecca Harris, a sophomore history major from Gaithersburg, Md.
  • Anna Hermann, a management major from Marion Center, Pa.
  • Sydney Hicks, a freshman speech language pathology major from Monroeville, Pa.
  • Kaishia Ieraci, a sophomore computer science major from North Huntingdon, Pa.
  • Daniel Jackson, a freshman undecided business major from Uniontown, Pa.
  • Devajah Nixon, a freshman psychology major from Coatesville, Pa.
  • Nicole Poulos, a freshman nursing major from Baden, Pa.
  • Olivia Ryan, a sophomore human resource management major from East Stroudsburg, Pa.
  • Nyasha Shannon-Hatchett, a freshman undecided health and human services major from San Antonio, Tex.
  • Chaelon Swaney, a freshman chemistry/pre-med major from Brownsville, Pa.
  • Melissa Szmurlo, a sophomore psychology major from Scranton, Pa.
  • Jada Tucker, a freshman fashion merchandising major from Fort Washington, Md.
  • Isaiah Woodard, a freshman natural sciences/pre-physical therapy major from Philadelphia, Pa.

The Student Success Leader position is responsible for several essential functions of the orientation experience. These student leaders assist with proctoring placement testing, facilitating conversations about the transition experience to college, and building a diverse community on campus. They also assist students in the course registration process among other duties. Recruitment for this position begins in October of every academic year.
