In a recent U.S. News & World Report report published on October 18, 2017, Shijuan Liu, an associate professor of Chinese in the Department of Foreign Languages, was
quoted on the benefits of Living and Learning Communities.
Through LLCs, “international students will have more opportunities to interact with domestic students, faculty, and staff members outside classrooms.” In a Chinese New Year celebration associated with the LLC, for instance, students from her Chinese language
and culture courses and the Chinese Language and Culture Club worked with students from China to introduce Chinese culture to the community.
