Psychology’s Catherine Raeff published two papers in 2017, one in New Ideas in Psychology and one in Theory and Psychology.
Raeff published “Going where the action is to conceptualize the person” in the journal New Ideas in Psychology. The paper offers an integrative theoretical framework for understanding and investigating human action in terms of individual, social, cultural, and developmental processes. The paper is part of a special issue on the person that Raeff co-edited.
She also published a paper in the journal Theory and Psychology, titled “Towards a psychology of free action,” in which she argues that conceptualizing free action provides a basis for psychology to address freedom issues. Using systems theory to conceptualize action in general, the paper offers a theoretical framework for thinking about free action in terms of individual, social, cultural, and developmental processes.
