IUP Trumpets to Present Two Recitals, November 28

The IUP Trumpet Ensemble will present its annual fall recital on Tuesday, November 28, in Gorell Recital Hall in Sutton Hall on the IUP campus. The program will begin at 8:00 p.m. and is free and open to the general public. Kevin Eisensmith directs the IUP Trumpet Ensemble.

The program will feature numerous pieces for the 18-member ensemble, along with works for smaller groups. The performance will begin with Jim Olcott’s arrangement of the “Tuba Mirum Fanfare,” from Giuseppe Verdi’s Requiem.” Works by Mark Phillips, Erik Morales, and Leroy Ostransky will also be performed. The program will conclude with Michael Miller’s arrangement of Tchaikovsky’s “March Slave.”

The IUP Trumpet Ensemble includes both music majors and non-music majors, who audition for acceptance into the group.

This concert will be preceded by the IUP Trumpet Studio Recital, which will begin at 6:00 in Gorell Recital Hall. Featured will be members of the IUP Trumpet Studio.

Both programs are free and open to the general public.
