Thursday, October 26, at 7:00 p.m., Dr. Ken Coles of the Geoscience
Department will kick off the 2017—18 Planetarium Show series with a presentation
on the rings within our night sky. This
show will be followed by three other scheduled shows over the course of the
year (full schedule and information).
Each planetarium show will also cover the current positions
of stars and planets in the night sky. If weather permits, Coles and students
will set up a telescope outside following each show for a brief look at the
night sky (evening shows) or the sun (daytime shows).
The planetarium is in the east side of Weyandt Hall (the
side away from the Oak Grove). Doors open 15 minutes before showtime.
Seating is limited, and entry to the shows is first-come,
first-seated. Please contact Coles at firstname.lastname@example.org ahead of time to make
special arrangements if you want to bring a group.
