Prof. Tim Hibsman’s Engl-208 Introduction to Film course was privileged to have Emily Cosentino lecture on theme, camera angles, and life on multiple television shows and movie sets on September 29, 2017.

Cosentino was born in Austin, Texas, where she worked in radio while still in high school. She attended Texas Tech University, studying radio and television broadcasting. She received her MS in Film Production from Regent University. She kicked around Los Angeles working various jobs at CBS Television and Sony Pictures, hoping one day to produce family films at Disney.

However, on set and in the production offices, she kept skipping her lunch breaks to write, creating short film treatments and screenplays. A director friend told her she was acting like a writer. That’s when a light bulb went off and she realized she must be a writer because it explained her addiction to office supplies.

She now lives here in Indiana, Pennsylvania, with her husband and three young children. She’s also a champion of misfits and late bloomers.
