The IUP English Department, in partnership with IUP Libraries, the College of Humanities and Social Sciences, and the English Graduate Organization, will host a Banned Books Read Out in Stapleton Library from 12:00–1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 27.
Read Out celebrates the freedom to read and brings awareness to ongoing issues of literary censorship. Students, staff, faculty, and the community are invited to attend. Join us to read out favorite passages from banned books, or simply to listen and learn about the censorship issues that affect us all. Student-selected passages will be prepared for anyone interested in reading. Join us for refreshments and a lively celebration of our freedom to read. For more information, check out the EGO and IUP Libraries Facebook pages, the Banned Books Week website, or e-mail Tanya Heflin at email@example.com.
