Literature and Criticism PhD candidate and part-time Department of English faculty member Alexandra Lykissas presented part of her doctoral dissertation at the European Popular Culture Conference, held at the University of the Arts in London, England, in July 2017.

The presentation, "When Fairy Tales Collaborate," examined how fairy tale adaptations have changed in contemporary popular culture. These new adaptations offer collaboration as a solution to resolving issues relating to how authoritarian rulers use surveillance and fear to maintain their power.
