As reported during the spring term, IUP will be migrating to Office 365. The migration will result in an e-mail quota increase for all users to 50GB. In addition, the upgrade will allow for more modern and mainstream anti-spam utilities. E-mail, contacts,
and calendar entries all will be required to move to the new Office 365 environment, and it will leverage IUP’s single sign-on platform.
The complexity and size of IUP’s e-mail environment, along with potential integration challenges in moving to a Microsoft e-mail product, has resulted in IT Services extending the planning and testing phases—adding research conducted with other institutions
and external experts.
Some initial migrations will occur during the fall term in order to validate the migration plan and processes. Once that validation occurs, the large-scale migration will follow.
IT Services will continue to communicate details as planning and validation processes conclude. Documentation and training materials will be part of the migration. These will be housed at the IT Support Center website as they become available.
