The Center for Film Studies and the Popular Culture Methodologies group will co-sponsor a free film series this fall, starting with an episode of The Handmaid's Tale on Wednesday, September 13, at 5:30. Free snacks will be provided at each showing along with attendance vouchers. We will also have a student or professor introducing the film and leading a short discussion afterwards.

The room for the showings will be in HSS, but has not been determined yet.

Megan Hurley will present an episode or two of the Hulu series The Handmaid's Tale on September 13. Other films planned for the semester include Grizzly Man on September 27; The Road on October 4; V for Vendetta on November 1; and Grave of the Fireflies on November 29. Two more titles have yet to be selected.

Further announcements will also be coming during the semester, but instructors may wish to incorporate some of these showings into their syllabi from the start, or keep them in mind for extra credit possibilities.
