Do you know students who may be first-time online learners, or may be new to online learning? Help these students learn how to work with D2L and Moodle by sharing the information below.

Are you a first-time online learner, or new to online learning at IUP?  IUP offers an Online Student Orientation that is a free online workshop  for students to prepare for the online learning experience.

The Fall 2017 Online Student Orientation (OSO) will be offered August 21–25, 2017.

During this five-day interactive online workshop, students participate in activities designed to familiarize them with the common tools used in online courses at IUP. The OSO will also assist students in planning for successful participation in distance education courses. Specifically, students will:

  • Identify the skills necessary to be a successful online learner.
  • Identify IUP resources available to online learners.
  • Navigate the learning management system.
  • Use various features of the learning management system.

Both a Moodle and a Desire2Learn version of the OSO are available. Students can register for the OSO by completing the Online Student Orientation registration form.
