Malaika Turner spent three days, specifically 50 hours, in Amherst, Massachusetts, at Regional Entry Level Institute, a professional development institute that provided intensive training and educational activities for entry-level professionals who are
looking to work in mid-level positions in residence life.
In her role as a faculty member, she presented a high-energy, interactive, 90-minute session
on Residence Education and Student Behavior. The opportunity to attend RELI afforded Turner the opportunity to connect with other professionals in the region, mentor eager professionals, and bring light to the great things happening at IUP.
After learning a tremendous amount of information and making meaningful connections with various other student affairs professionals, this experience has motivated to implement and share new ideas in the Office of Housing, Residential Living, and Dining.
