Medical Excuse for Missing Class

The Health Service does not have the authority to excuse students from class attendance policies determined by individual professors.

It is the policy of the Health Service not to provide medical excuses. We can provide a Verification of Illness form that may recommend a student remain out of class on a particular day/days due to a severe illness or injury. This form will only be provided if one of our providers have witnessed such illness or injury. It will no longer be provided to students that choose to use the “self-care” services at the Health Service.

Here is more information on the Health Service excuse policy.
