The Issues of Diversity series will wrap up the 2017 season with a panel at 11:45 a.m. on April 10 in Stabley 210. Students participating in the Douglass Research Academy will present three projects they have been working on since fall 2016: one focused on perceptions of crime at IUP, another on reasons students withdraw from IUP, and the third focusing on campus dining.
One of those groups has already been awarded a first place research award by Sigma Xi The Scientific Research Society at the 2017 IUP Scholars Forum. Here is the online abstract.
The Douglass Research Academy is designed to increase the involvement of first-generation, low-income, and undergraduate students of color in academic/scholarly research experiences. Participants come from a variety of majors and typically have no research experience when they begin.
