The Student Association of Nutrition and Dietetics (SAND) held a Chili Cook-Off on Tuesday, March 7, 2017, as part of National Nutrition Month events on campus. The event was held at the HUB and featured 14 entries of different variations of chili that each had to include at least two challenge ingredients.
Chili entries were from IUP students, faculty, and staff - some entered as a team and others as individuals. Tasters paid $1.00 to try all the chili and cast one vote for their favorite (additional votes were available for purchase by tasters). Over 160 tasters participated.
The chili with the most votes was Team Ex Sci, created by IUP faculty members Linda Alman and Bob Alman, and graduate student Brianne Lenhart.
$400 was raised for the Indiana Food Co-op.
